I have been grooming Duke since 2005. I was his pet groomer that entire time. I connected to him and loved him tremendously. As a groomer I saw him monthly from 2005 - 2015 when he passed away. I saw him more than his Veterinarian did. As a groomer, we see the age transformation and we know when the pet is getting close to saying goodbye. I love you Duke and will never forget you. When a pet gets older grooms need to change. And each groom may be completely different. You might skip blow drying, you might recommend a fast cut and no bathing. In each situation it's always case by case. Read body language of the pet and try to see what is going on. Be patient. And sometimes know when to say No as a groomer, will help you talk to the pet parent.
